This webwork branches from the joint research on visualising inner journeys of ritualistic experiences that took place in the Batu, Indonesia bull trance ritual. The artist transcribed thoughts that mushroomed alongside the research into an alternate reality ride that invites viewers to stride along.
Associating urban weeds with the undertone of being diasporic and dispersed, the journey starts with digital notes that span across spaces, together with photosynthesis prints on weeds as guidance to walk through the space. The journey delivers an animist worldview to the day-to-day urban settings, carefully threading between cybernetics and spirits transmission.
The work was also presented by May Adadol Ingawanij & Julian Ross on World Records Journal 2022, Volume 7 Article 10, together with other participating artists.
