Gypsum (Series)
Photographic image on expired film
2019 - in progress
The artist uses expired film from 20 years ago as medium to record the series of images. By bringing the viewer to roam across household mess and city ruins, the work investigates the representation and abstraction of individual emotion under contemporary local urban living influence.
Using facial features such as eyes, nose, mouth and ear to represent the human presence, the artist uses gypsum as material to execute the form, in order to eliminate excess information about the human identity, keeping it foreign and distant.
